形容詞與副詞同型例句

high	Miss Lee lives in a high building. 李小姐住在高樓裡。	The kite flies high. 風箏飛得高。
low	She said it in a very low voice. 她以非常低沉的聲音說出來。	The planes fly low across the river. 飛機低空飛越河流。
early	The early bird catches the worm. 早起的鳥兒有蟲吃。	Please come early. 請早點到。
late	Sorry, I am late. 對不起，我來晚了。	We arrived late because of bad weather. 因為天氣惡劣，我們來遲了。
fast	I took a fast train to Tainan. 我搭了快速火車去台南。	Young boys grow fast. 年輕的男孩長得快。
hard	She is a hard worker. 她是個勤奮的工作者。	He worked very hard. 他勤奮地工作。
long	I've been waiting a long time. 我已經等了很長一段時間。	My mom worked all day long. 我媽媽整天工作。
near	He will be retired in the near future. 他將在不久的將來退休。	As the date of her wedding drew near, she became very anxious. 隨著婚禮日期日益接近，她變得很焦慮。
deep	Take a few deep breaths and calm down. 深呼吸幾下，冷靜下來。	He went deep into the forest. 他深入森林中。

同樣地，hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly 這些字是形容詞又是副詞，它們是由名詞 hour, day, week, month, quarter, year 轉來的。

很多副詞是由形容詞後面加 -ly 所形成。然而 high, near, hard, late, most 這些字既是形容詞又是副詞；但是後面加了 -ly 雖然也是副詞，意義卻大不相同。下表最後兩行多都是副詞，用法特殊，請特別注意：
